Wellington in a pint

At Clemenger BBDO Wellington we launched a contest to capture the city in a beer. This resulted in 156 new Wellington-flavoured beers made by people of the city, from which the best four beers were chosen and produced. 

 Wellington’s a small town and competition for clients here is fierce. As an agency, Clemenger BBDO sought a way to increase their profile by using their design expertise to create, define and launch a new product.

This design approach was used throughout the campaign, including posters and promotion of the event, logo, website and in bars on beer taps and drinks coasters.

 After one month, the beer had sold out. The strong, distinctive design had helped raise the agency’s profile and create a bold new brand for the people of Wellington.   The final results were recognised with a Gold at the  NZ Best Design Awards
